I may not have done much today except for work, but I do have something to unveil. Our kitchen. It’s been 3 years in the making- and still isn’t TOTALLY done (I’d love a tile backsplash, new countertops, faucet, a million dollars….) but the current phase of kitchen is complete.
So I want to show you this before picture. And tell a little story. I walked into this house with Ki 5 years ago, walked into this kitchen, put down my son’s baby carrier and said- this is the house I want to buy. Ki took one look at this kitchen and looked at me and was like- uhhhhh, don’t you want to see the rest of it? But I saw tons of potential. And looking around the kitchen today I know now what I saw. Even if the before picture makes me cringe a little when I look back on it.
Here she is in all her glory. Stained wood with the dated trim piece over the window- complete with almond appliances.
But today she stands before you with redone cabinets, no dated trim piece, new crown molding, new appliances, one less cabinet and a hood microwave. It’s been a lot of work. Painting cabinets is a form of torture I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy…but good lord it’s so worth it.
Now the question remains….what do we put on that large blank wall behind the table?
